This site is here to introduce Tipping Point Therapy as a tool that people can apply to their emotional problems.
Q: How Many Psychiatrists Does It Take To Screw In A Lightbulb?
A: One. But The Bulb Has To Want To Change.
Change, powerful change is at the heart of every mental health intervention. Change occurs in two ways.
Several small changes over time can add up to big change, like the miracle of compound interest on your savings account. There is a pleasant surprise when you check your five percent yielding CD after twenty years, 1000 dollars is now worth 2653 dollars.
In contrast, a tipping point change occurs when a small shift results in a huge change suddenly. Little shift... little shift... little shift... BAM, a state altering change that catches your attention. The classic example is of slowly cooling water. Imagine a body of water as it slowly cools degree by degree: 34...33... suddenly at 32 degrees, the whole structure of the water makes a dramatic change and you now have ice. 32 degrees is the tipping point.
